Servicing and Repairs

A properly set up, regularly maintained machine will give you the best results, save you time and energy and will have a longer life.

We offer a full range of servicing and repairs from simple blade sharpening and repairs to cut cables and broken switches to major equipment overhauls. No job is too small.

We are service agents for the following garden machinery brands: Ariens, Atco, Countax (we source Westwood parts too!), ECHO, Husqvarna, IBEA, Lumag, Maruyama, Mountfield, Stiga and Webb. We are happy to carry out servicing and repair work on other brands, subject to the machine being of a suitable quality, parts being readily available to us and the repair being considered economical in relation to the age and value of the machine.

For country estates and professional contractors, whose livelihood depends upon the reliability of their equipment, we will always endeavour to turn machines around quickly, subject to the availability of parts.

WORKSHOP BOOKINGS & TURNAROUND TIMES
We have a limited amount of storage space in our current premises and, in line with most other garden machinery businesses, face seasonal peaks in demands for servicing and repair work. We invite clients to book in their machinery for servicing during the winter but inevitably demand outstrips the available workshop time in the peak season which means that we may be unable to turn around your work without there being an element of delay. We always do the best we can but ask for your patience with our staff please as replacement parts for older machines in particular are not always readily available or can be out of stock at our suppliers at peak times.

SATURDAY SURGERY
We are currently trialling a kind of GP surgery clinic for garden machinery on Saturdays, when we open from 9.00am to 2.00pm. If you are having problems with a piece of your machinery please bring it along for examination. If there is a ‘quick fix’ we will endeavour to do it for you on the spot where possible but failing that we will advise you of your options.

MACHINERY INSPECTION CHARGE
We are pleased to undertake an initial examination of faulty machinery for customers and report back to them by telephone or face to face with our findings on the following basis:
• An inspection charge of £17.50 + Vat will apply which is payable in advance if you leave the machine with us.
• Where a repair of the machine is considered viable and cost effective this cost will be offset against the labour charge associated with the repair work undertaken.
• Where a repair of the machine is considered uneconomical we are always happy to offset the inspection fee paid against the purchase of a new machine from us on the same day.

SUPPLY OF GARDEN MACHINERY CONSUMABLES & PARTS
We supply fuels, oils, consumable items such as strimmer line as well as replacement chainsaw bars and chains and replacement drive belts for the brands of mower we sell.

We are pleased to assist customers with the supply of parts for garden machinery on the following basis:
• Where a period of research is required to locate hard to find parts, a minimum service charge of £6.25 + Vat will apply to each order irrespective of the cost of the part supplied.
• Any carriage charges incurred by us in obtaining the part for customers will be passed on in full. For the information of customers these usually tend to be in the range £2.95 + Vat to £6.50 + Vat currently.

STORAGE CHARGES
We appreciate the cooperation of our customers in collecting machinery as soon as possible following the completion of servicing and repair work undertaken on their behalf.

Unless a prior arrangement has been made, a storage charge of £5.00 + Vat per week will be payable for machinery not collected within 7 days of our call to advise that the relevant work has been completed.

We are pleased to offer a garden machinery collection and delivery service on the following terms:

PL1 to PL7 and PL9: £ 5.00 (+ Vat) per trip
PL8 and PL10 to PL12: £ 7.50 (+ Vat) per trip

Cordless Equipment

Battery powered garden tools – such as hedge trimmers, strimmers, chainsaws and mowers – are lightweight and designed to be comfortable to use and just as powerful as petrol driven alternatives.

They are environmentally friendly with no emissions to pollute the atmosphere, cost effective with lower running costs than petrol machinery and more convenient and safer than electric machinery.

Robot Mowers

The introduction of battery-powered robotic lawnmowers has transformed the task of keeping lawns in good shape. Using GPS technology, robotic lawnmowers move around the garden avoiding obstacles – and even put themselves away after use. Many customers regard their robot mower as a new member of the family!
